Account deletion
Delete your Historiq account
Applies to the Historiq Android and iOS apps · Last updated October 7, 2026
How to delete your Historiq account and the data tied to it — from inside the app, or by email if you no longer have the app installed.
1.Delete it in the app
- Open Historiq and go to Settings.
- In the Account section, tap Delete Account.
- Confirm with Delete. Everything listed under "What is deleted" below is removed right away and you are signed out.
This cannot be undone. Once the account is deleted, none of its data can be recovered.
2.No app? Request it by email
You can ask for the same deletion without opening or reinstalling the app. Email historiq.help@gmail.com with the subject Delete my Historiq account, from the email address of the Google or Facebook account you signed in with. If you remember your display name or friend code, include it.
To make sure the request really comes from you, we may ask you to confirm from the email address stored on the account before deleting anything. We complete the deletion within 30 days of your request, and usually much sooner.
3.What is deleted
- Your profile — display name, email address, profile picture link, sign-in provider and provider ID, and friend code.
- Your friends — every friend connection and pending friend request.
- Your game data — lifetime stats, score history, and saved quiz progress for all games and modes.
- Your sign-in record — the login entry with its email and provider ID, plus any active sessions, at our authentication provider (Supabase).
4.What is kept
- Security log entries — each sign-in was logged with an IP address, device/user-agent text, an event label, and a timestamp, to detect abuse. After deletion these entries are no longer linked to any account: no name, email, or account ID stays attached. They are used only for security and abuse prevention and cannot be read from the app.
- Nothing else in Historiq's database identifies you once the account is deleted.
Deleting your Historiq account does not touch your Google or Facebook account. Ad-related data handled by Google AdMob stays under Google's own policies; you can manage ad personalization at g.co/adssettings.
5.If you used the app as a guest
"Continue without login" never stores your name or email; your scores are tied only to a random anonymous identifier on your device. To remove that data, sign in inside the app (your guest progress is attached to the account) and then delete the account as described above.
